Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC), a world-class specialised civil and commercial court, has today welcomed a delegation visit from the Supreme Court of the Republic of China. The delegation was headed by the deputy Chief Justices Jiang Wei as well as other judges and officials from the Supreme Court of the Republic of China.
As part of their visit, QICDRC’s CEO Mr. Faisal Al-Sahouti provided the delegation with a tour of the state-of-the-art facilities including the court and the arbitration room. During the meeting, Mr. Faisal Al-Sahouti discussed means of enhancing the legal and judicial relations between Qatar International Court and the Supreme Court of the Republic of China.
This follows on from the agreement signed earlier this year between the State of Qatar and China with the aim to improve bilateral relations by enhancing co-operation within the private sector to attract more partnerships between the two nations. Qatar International Court is notably the first specialised court in the State which looks into commercial and investment disputes that may arise from the transactions of international financial companies which operate through the Qatar Financial Centre.
At the end of the visit, the two parties exchanged gifts in the presence of Judge Rashid Al-Bader and other members of the QICDRC registry team. Al-Sahouti thanked the Chinese delegation for their visit which shall enhance the legal and judicial relations between the two countries.
