QICDRC has officially welcomed a high-level delegation from the Spanish Senate led by Mr. Manuel Guerl Mo Altaba, Chairman of the Spanish Senate Justice Commission. The delegation was received by Mr. Faisal Al-Sahouti, CEO of QICDRC.

Alongside Mr. Manuel Guerl Mo Altaba, Chairman of the Spanish Senate Justice Commission, the delegation comprised of Mr. Pedro Agramunt, president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Mr. Joaquín Carmelo Thepeda, Spokesman for Foreign Affairs of the Senate Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Mr. Joaquin Lewis Remiraith, Spokesman for the Constitution Committee of the Senate Popular Party Parliamentary Group, Mr. Antonio Gutierrez, Foreign Affairs Spokesman of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party of the House of Representatives, and Mr. Agustin Almodbar, spokesman for the Tourism Committee of the Parliamentary Group of the Popular Party of the Senate.

During the visit, both parties discussed means of enhancing cooperation between QICDRC and the Spanish Senate, represented by the Justice Commission.

Mr. Faisal Al-Sahouti, CEO of QICDRC, gave a detailed brief on the State of Qatar’s successful attempt to establish a specialized judiciary through the establishment of the Qatar International Court, the first specialized court in the state that deals with commercial and investment disputes arising from the transactions of international financial companies which operate through Qatar Financial Center.

Mr. Faisal Al-Sahouti also reviewed the judicial system of the Qatar International Court, the mechanism of its operation, the nature of its proceedings, the manner of its consideration and the levels of litigation.

Following the discussion, the delegation toured the QICDRC’s facilities and was given a detailed explanation by the court's registration team. The Court's facilities are equipped with advanced and sophisticated systems, electronic case management system and other services, all of which contribute to ensuring speedy settlement of disputes and litigation before the Court.

The delegation of the Spanish Senate expressed their happiness at the visit and their admiration of the court’s system and its equipment and techniques. They praised the QICDRC’s judicial system which is characterized by rapid litigation procedures, which contributes to resolving any dispute in a short time using the latest technologies to achieving justice is a leap. 

Mr. Faisal Al-Sahouti, CEO of QICDRC, emphasized the importance of the Spanish delegation’s visit which will contribute to enhancing the legal affairs and legal relations between both countries.
